Information you provide

When you sign in, we ask for your name and email address. Sign-in works by emailing you a one-time code — we never ask for or store a password. Your name and email are used to identify your account and personalize your reading experience (for example, showing your progress and a welcome message).

Reading activity

For signed-in readers, we record which chapters you've read and when, so you can pick up where you left off and see your progress through a series. We also log individual chapter-read events — including for guests who haven't signed in, identified only by an anonymous device ID stored in your browser, never by name or email.

Site visit information

Each time you visit, we log basic technical details: the page you visited, your browser and operating system, the app version, and whether you were signed in. We also estimate your approximate city and country from your IP address, using a third-party lookup service (ipapi.co) — your exact address or precise location is never collected. This helps us understand where readers come from and improve the site; it isn't used to identify you personally.

Guests are identified only by a randomly generated ID stored in your browser's local storage — not by anything that identifies you personally, unless you choose to sign in.

Local storage and cookies

Vedarthi uses your browser's local storage (not tracking cookies) to remember your sign-in session, your anonymous visitor ID, and your reading progress, so the site works smoothly across visits. Clearing your browser's site data will reset these.

Who we share information with

We don't sell or rent your information to anyone. Your data is processed by two service providers who help us run Vedarthi:

• Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in, storing your account, reading progress, and visit logs.
• ipapi.co — used only to estimate a visitor's city/country from their IP address at the moment of each visit.

Your choices

You can read Vedarthi as a guest without ever signing in — the only information logged is the anonymous visit data described above. If you've signed in and would like your account and reading history deleted, or have any question about your data, email us at mail@vedarthi.com and we'll take care of it.

Children's privacy

Vedarthi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of Vedarthi after a change means you accept the updated policy.
